| Spaghetti Dinner by Alan It was another big Choir fund raiser. The ever popular spaghetti
dinner took place at the usual time and place: high school, 4:30 -
7:30 P.M.. Everything went very good. Eric Berken played violin for
the beginning of the dinner. Everyone seemed to enjoy his playing. To
relieve Eric, a guitar/singer came on. (father of a choir member). I
enjoyed his songs a lot. The most important part of this dinner, the
spaghetti, was great! Mr. Bianchi showed up but we didn't give him any spaghetti because we ran out!! Ha! Ha! Ha! To my knowledge the dinner was a success and a whole lot of work for Bryon Thomas (He's president) and me (I had Mom and Dad there so had to help with clean up. I washed dishes...so did Mom) After cleaning up I went to the Brunswick-Medina football game. And, BOY, 'did we kill them!!! Editor's note: Ann Peterka also worked at the dinner. She helped with set up and then pushed a desert cart around for two hours. She also helped with the clean up. Vern Peterka once again made the spaghetti and this year Claudia helped him and also helped Barb Miller with the Spaghetti sauce. Vern, Claudia and Ann were home by 8:45 P.M. They were too tired to attend the football game. Nick Peterka was sick on October 31, 1987. He was feeling better by the evening and went Trick 'n Treating. |
Red Hawk Rambling by David This is the week where goblins, ghosts, witches, and other scary creatures come out to walk amidst the mortal beings of this world. It's also the week when little boys and girls go out to get some candy from their neighbors. Yes! You guessed it! It's the week for trick or treating, it's Halloween!! Among many, many families that went trick or treating on Kingsbury Road (all three) were the Peterka kids with their outstanding costumes. Nick was a muscle-man. Brian was a green-faced thingymaboo. David was the Grim Reaper; Ann a white-faced whatchamacallit. Alan was a pink thing with big eyes, a nose, and a funny mouth. Mary was a seventeenth century maid. Amy Kolinski was also trick or treating with the Peterka clan and she went as a modern day French girl. Mary went to a party with Rene, who was a modern maid!!! One hour before trick or treating Ann decided that she wanted to go! She told everyone to come up with some ideas for a costume. Everyone came up with some ideas, but none good enough for Ann. She couldn't think of anything to be so she just decided to paint her face white and put a triangle on one cheek and BHS on the other one. If you asked her what she was she would make a fist and smack you in the arm. Which proves my point, if you are an armless baseball pitcher it will take a while for your career to get going!!! |
