| Historical Soccer Game On October 10, 1987 history was made. The Eagles beat the Force by the largest margin ever: 10-0. In the first five minutes of the game, everyone's favorite Ann Peterka dribbled a little past half field, shot and made it! What Power!! Unfortunately, it didn't count because Becky Kulbaga was off sides. But it didn't take the Eagles very long to get that point back.. Becky Kulbaga, scored the first goal (that counted), followed by Theresa. Kulbaga, and then Ann Peterka. At the end of the first half, the score was 3-0. Because of too many players, Ann Peterka was not seen during the first ten minutes of the second half. During these ten minutes, four more goals were scored. Kirsten Olsen made the first one, followed by Qwen Vojtoch (who made two in a row), and finally by Rachelle Wires who made one to make the score 7-0. Then Ann Peterka came back in the game and immediately scored a goal. About ten minutes later Kirsten Olsen scored her second goal. In the last few minutes of the game, Ann Peterka scored the last goal. Of course, the Red Hawks sports staff have voted Ann Peterka most valuable player because anyone who can make four goals (although one didn't count) deserves the honor. Movie Review by Mary On Saturday afternoon four members of the Peterka clan attended the new motion pictures The Princess Bride. Everyone enjoyed themselves. They showed two previews and the hero was very handsome. There were a bunch of sword fights, kissing scenes, swamp creatures, deaths and miracles. Everything worked out happily in the end. Mandy Patiken (from Evita and Sunday in the Park with George) played a good Spanish sword fighter (even if he wasn't the lead) but they didn't let him sing. Everyone had popcorn and pop, and there were some small children in front of us who screamed at the scary parts. It was a happy, upbeat film and we didn't mind that it cost us $2.75 a piece when it was over. Note: The Subtle but expressive tonal nuances of the original photographs may be somewhat compromised by the Xerox reproduction. Puzzle Corner Remade by Brian In this puzzle your have to fill in the questions with 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. 1 and 2 are done for you. Up, down, side to side, and diagonal should equal 15.

Mr. and Mrs. Peterka Attend Party!!!!
Vern and Claudia Peterka took time out of their busy Sunday afternoon and attended the 25 anniversary party for Tom and Mary Timura. All of the couples nine children were present...though Ron was a little late as he had a "war game" before the party and then had to hitch-hike to Brunswick. Tom and Mary were very surprised!! They had lots of small sandwiches and other party stuff. At the party were Barb and Tom Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Haut so the Peterkas were able to catch up on all current neighborhood news. There is a new house being built on the lot across from Millers (next to Caspers). So far it looks very bad...everyone is worried. Vern Peterka had to leave early to take Ann and Alan to their first Religion class and Claudia left about an hour later when it became apparent that the gifts were not going to be open at the party. Timuras and Peterkas are going to go out for Pizza one of these weeks...hope a date is set up soon. One other news worthy note is that the oldest Timura girl is expecting her first baby in March. Red Hawk Rambling by David This week in the news nothing really exciting happened. There was nobody up-chucking over other people, and no- one being pulled into trees by their dogs, no space invaders coming to the Peterkas residence, and no planes being hit by buses. There was, however, the annual Halloween house decorating time. David Peterka did not seem pleased with his work and kept on repeating "It's not Holloweeny enough". Another hap-pening at the Peterka's place is the guitar mania. Every single child in the house is picking, plinking and strumming the guitar. The continual noise of the guitar is enough to drive a 13 year old person insane!!! which proves my theory: Peter Pan had an affair with Tinkerbell. Dear Ann, Should I have to attend a class about moral problems
when I have none? Dear W-R-B-D-A-E, |
